Revelstoke, BC, is located on the Trans Canada Hwy #1, beneath the Selkirk Range, between Mt. Revelstoke National Park and Glacier National Park. To the east of Revelstoke is Golden (148 km/92 miles), Banff (282 km/174 miles) and Calgary (417 km/259 miles). To the west is Salmon Arm (98 km/61 miles), Kamloops (210 km/130 miles) and Vancouver (565 km/351 miles).
The drive along the Trans Canada Hwy to Kamloops takes you through wooded mountains and winding routes along the steep embankments of a river or lake to the desert like terrain of the Kamloops Thompson River area. From this route you can also access the Okanagan Valley in the south from the Shuswap communities of Sicamous using Highway 97A or from Salmon Arm via 97B.
