Golden, BC, is located at the junction of Trans Canada Hwy #1 and Hwy #95, and can be reached from Calgary (262 kms/163 miles) and Banff (137 kms/85 miles) in the east, and Revelstoke (149 kms/92 miles) and Vancouver (713 kms/443 miles) and in west, and Cranbrook (250 kms/155 miles) in the south.
Golden, at the confluence of the Columbia and Kicking Horse rivers, is surrounded by three mountain ranges and five National Parks: Yoho, Banff, Jasper, Glacier, and Kootenay. Recreation includes heli-skiing, ice-climbing, hang gliding, mountaineering, horseback riding, river rafting, kayaking, fishing, wildlife viewing, birdwatching, biking, hiking, golf course, ski area, wetland tours, and snowmobiling.
