Burns Lake is a rural village situated on Hwy #16 in the Lakes District of BC's North-Central Interior. To the west of Burns Lake lie the communities of Topley (51 km), Houston, BC (81 km), Granisle (100 km), Smithers (147 km), Terrace (350 km), and Prince Rupert (494 km). To the east is Fraser Lake (69 km), Vanderhoof (128 km), Fort St. James (175 km), and Prince George (223 km).
Located on the shores of Burns Lake this community is a year round destination. The Lakes District offers outdoor enthusiasts unspoiled wilderness areas and anglers over 4800 km (2976 mi.) of shoreline. Some of the province's largest char (48 lbs) and rainbow trout (10+ lbs) have been landed on nearby lakes.
